Benjamin Schmäling is director of DAAD Regional Office Amman since February 2021. Before that, he held several positions in the DAAD headquarters in Bonn, among others as head of Transnational Education projects in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. From 2011 to 2016, he was working as a university teacher for German as a foreign language at French universities Paris-Sorbonne and Lille III. He graduated in French and German Studies and in International Culture and Business Studies.

Ms. Shugair is a program coordinator responsible for the Third Country scholarships for Postgraduate Studies for Students from Yemen in addition to the PhD programs. She is also in charge of the finances of the DAAD Regional Office Amman.

Ms. Kassis is information office at the DAAD Amman office.
She provides counseling on study and research in Germany and on DAAD scholarship opportunities.
Also she in charge of the Alumni network and the events, also she is responsible of DAAD Social Media platform and the website.

Ms. Abdo is a project Leader for the EU-funded Edu- SYRIA III Master scholarship program for Syrian and Jordanian students she is also responsible for DAAD Marketing activities for students, faculty members and researchers for Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates as well as Study in Germany campaigns.

Ms. Al Torah is a program officer responsible for the administration of the EU-funded EDU SYRIA Master scholarship program for Syrian and Jordanian students, including reporting and financial administration, in close collaboration with the program manager and the consortium leader. As well as administering of DAAD shorts term programs, such as the summer language course, research stay and the re-invitation program from Jordan and Lebanon

Ms. Tatge is a program officer for Ta’ziz, DAAD‘s new program for the academic cooperation with the MENA-Region. She is responsible for the coordination of all program-related activities such as networking activities, science communication and outreach, coordination of trainings and events, marketing and social media activities as well as the financial administration. Before joining the DAAD in Amman, Ms. Tatge worked for UNICEF and for different institutions of German development cooperation.
