The DAAD Regional Office Amman conducted a successful visit to الجامعة الهاشمية The Hashemite University, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen academic cooperation and expand opportunities for students and institutions in Jordan.
The visit began with an information session introducing DAAD funding opportunities, including project funding, scholarships for Master’s and PhD studies, and short-term academic programs. The session was well attended and focused on highlighting available academic and research opportunities for students and faculty.
This was followed by a presidential-level meeting with Dr. Hasan Nabil Katkhuda (Vice President, Hashemite University), Dr. Mohammed Kharabshed (Dean for Academic Development & International Outreach), and other academic representatives.
During the discussions, we exchanged views on strategic directions for future cooperation, with a special focus on strengthening academic collaboration between Jordanian and German higher education institutions. Key topics included aligning academic programs with labor market needs, enhancing donor-supported initiatives, and expanding access to international funding opportunities.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of developing joint approaches for capacity building, improving academic exchange, and supporting innovative program development, particularly in priority sectors such as water.
