If there is a new call for applications regarding this programme we will inform you on our website and on facebook.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is conducting a special scholarship programme for Young Syrian Students (and Jordanians) who want to continue their higher education in Jordan. In times of civil war and displacement in their home country, this programme intends to give a sustainable contribution to build a future elite of leaders who will play a central role in rebuilding the country.
The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), as part of its global special initiative “Refugees” has commissioned the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to implement the project “New Perspectives through Academic Education and Training for Young Jordanians and Syrians”.
It is the 2nd year that DAAD and GIZ call for applications.
The project provides scholarships for Master studies at Jordanian universities in all fields of study with the exception of medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry and law for Syrian refugees and disadvantaged Jordanians in hosting communities. The project also provides human capacity development activities in the field of conflict management and prevention of violence.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as strategic partner of GIZ is responsible for the selection of graduates, the communication with universities and the administration of the funding of the scholarships. The aim of the scholarship programme is to contribute to the education of future leaders, mediators and peacekeepers in Jordan, to build the basis for the future reconstruction of Syria and to create new perspectives for young adults living in challenging conditions.
The full call for applications as well as a link that will guide you to the application form can be found here.
Note deadline: The application deadline for this programme is the 30th of November 2015!!
