Call for Application for RISE WORLDWIDE 2018

Researchers from accredited universities and non-profit research institutions can submit an internship offer for which German students from the fields of engineering, natural and earth sciences, medicine, computer science or related disciplines may apply. A successful applicant will receive a DAAD scholarship to carry out a research stay in your working group.

Deadline for Submission of Project Proposals: 1st of September till 15th of October 2017

Terms of the internship: 6 weeks to 3 months in summer 2018

  • You have to submit your application on DAAD Portal and send your hard copies to our office starting 06th August every SUNDAY and TUESDAY. (We will not accept any hard-copies outside the mentioned days)
  • We will ONLY consider your application if it is complete and if you already SUBMITTED IT ONLINE within the DAAD portal.

Call for Proposals: DIES National Multiolication Trainings 2017-2018

In order to support HEIs in developing countries to develop their staff and institutional capacity, the joint programme Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies (DIES) of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) is offering dialogues activities, trainings and conferences to higher education managers in developing countries since 2005.

Currently DIES has more than 8000 alumni of its different training programmes. With the aim to support DIES alumni as multipliers to be engaged in higher education management and to promote the sustainability of the DIES trainings, the two-year National Multiplication Trainings (NMT) Programme is initiated with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ).

If you want apply, the interested training committees must register under http://www.diesnmt.org
and fill out the application form and upload the needed documents online.

The online application will be available from 19th July and must be handed in until 25 August 2017 at 12:00 PM CET.

In order to be considered, applications should include
* Online application form (to be filled in online, see viewing sample in Annex 1)
* Training proposal (to be filled in online, see viewing sample in Annex 2)
* Budget plan (to be uploaded, see Annex 3)
* Curriculum Vitae of the applicants
* Certificate of DIES training of the applicants if available

Applicants are welcome to submit additional documents to support their application, such as
* Letter of Commitment from the higher management of their institution, supporting
the application for the NMT programme.
* Letter of Collaboration with other relevant external partners/organisations,
especially if it implies complementary funding.

Who can apply?

Candidates who graduated not longer than 6 years before the application deadline and who have obtained at least two years of professional work experience related to the Master`s course.

2-    A proof of two years of work experience and of the current work situation

Programmbeschreibung

Das Programm richtet sich an sehr gut qualifizierte Graduierte der Fächer Germanistik, Deutsch als Fremdsprache oder verwandter Fächer aus Jordanien, dem Nahen Osten und Nordafrika (siehe Länderliste). Diese können sich als Selbstzahler oder Stipendiaten für ein Aufbaustudium (MA) an der Deutsch-Jordanischen Universität (GJU) in Amman bewerben. Ziel des Studiengangs ist es, Dozentinnen und Dozenten auszubilden, die Deutsch als Fremdsprache insbesondere an den deutsch-arabischen Universitäten oder arabischen Universitäten mit deutschlandorientierten Studiengängen oder für Hörende aller Fachbereiche unterrichten.

  • Länderliste: Algerien, Irak, Jemen, Jordanien, Libanon, Libyen, Marokko, Palästina, Syrien, Tunesien
  • Beginn des Studiengangs: jeweils im Herbst
  • Dauer: 2 Jahre, davon 1 Semester an einer der folgenden Partnerhochschulen: Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Universität Trier, Philipps-Universität Marburg, Pädagogische Hochschule Freiburg, Universität Kassel.
  • Ort: GJU Campus, Madaba, Amman

Grundvoraussetzungen

  • BA-Examen oder gleichwertiger Abschluss in den Fächern Germanistik, Deutsch als Fremdsprache oder verwandten Fächern und Philologien
  • Nachgewiesene Deutschkenntnisse (Zertifikat) auf dem Niveau TestDaF 3 bzw. B2

Call for Application: for BA Translation (Arabic - English - German) at the German Jordanian University

The Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences has been granting scholarships annually since 2007 for the most meritorious B.A. Translation students out of funds provided by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The scholarships are granted per year but usually extended for the whole course of the program if the performance of the scholarship holders stays consistently above average. Students can apply for the following types of scholarships.

Sur-place Scholarships are primarily granted to Jordanian nationals and comprise

  • a lump sum that covers (approximately) the study fees at the GJU
  • a monthly allowance to cover the costs of living during the year in Germany
  • a travel allowance for the trip to Germany

Third Country Scholarships are exclusively granted to Non-Jordanian nationals and comprise

  • a lump sum that covers (approximately) the study fees at the GJU
  • a monthly allowance to cover the costs of living for the stay in Jordan
  • a monthly allowance to cover the costs of living for the year in Germany
  • a travel allowance for the trip to Germany

Pre-requisites and Application Requirements

In general students who apply for studying in the Translation program can also apply for a scholarship. Applicants should hand in the following documents in one PDF file only:

  • Application Form
  • CV
  • Copy of passport
  • Certified Copy of Secondary School Certificate (Tawjihi or equivalent)
  • Letter of Motivation in English

The best applicants will be chosen for a scholarship based on the school GPA, the motivation letter, an interview and an English/Arabic proficiency test.

Application Deadlines for the academic year 2017/2018

Surplace Scholarships: 31st August 2017 (selection procedure will take place at the GJU)

Third Country Scholarships: 11th June 2017 (selection procedure will take place in the DAAD-office or German embassy of the respective country of residence of the applicant)
